An ultra-modern, luxury kitchen renovation, with formal dining and custom features, in the heart of Halton Hills.
Location: Halton Hills
Date: 2017
Budget: $100,000
Style: Modern
The Space:
The owners of this gorgeous new kitchen wanted a super modern and jaw-dropping space to host and entertain guests. An open concept layout and easy maintenance were high priorities, which inspired the major wall reconstruction and sleek material choices.
The Renovation Results:
Through a select choice of neutral colours, glossy materials and industrial inspired décor, this kitchen turned out to be a beautiful, modern look.
The walls were modified to open the kitchen into the dining and living areas, requiring a major move of electrical, plumbing and the hood fan ductwork. The existing carpet was replaced with Shaw engineered hardwood in Argonne Forest Oak, which carried throughout the main floor to emphasize the open concept layout. The main foyer flooring used 12×24 black porcelain tile with a slate look, placing a bold design choice front and centre, while still being easy to clean.
The kitchen backsplash was done in a chevron style with marble Blanco Carrera tile, for a truly luxurious feel. The super white quartzite countertops play into the neutral palette of ultra-whites and dark greys. This palette is most apparent in the cabinets, where the upper cabinetry is painted in High Gloss White, while the island used Matte Dark Grey Silk.
The floating shelves with a wood grain finish brought in a modern, industrial style to the kitchen and continued the open flow. Lastly, the Delta Trinsic kitchen faucets tap into a popular trend, which is moving away from the typical stainless steel or brush nickel. These kitchen faucets boast a champagne bronze finish.
The Renovation Highlights:
A few of the notable highlights in this kitchen renovation are the custom, built-in features throughout the cabinetry and drawer units. The stove vent fan is hidden within the upper cabinetry, while fridge drawers are included near the coffee centre and the dishwasher and trash bin are built into the kitchen island.
