Bathroom Renovation: Before & After
In this month’s project we tackle a bathroom renovation!
Before
With a solid foundation, this room had plenty of potential to work with. Primarily aesthetic issues, this bathroom was outdated and needed a modern update. The major project elements were replacing the existing wallpaper, new floors and tiling, and installing a new freestanding shower and bathtub.
Blue is becoming a popular paint colour for renovated bathrooms and this one was no exception. A tile base was used on the bottom half of the wall to unify the glass shower with the rest of the room. The new bathtub was built into a dark granite frame to stand out amongst the lighter tile wall border.
After
A major feature in the new bathroom is the custom cabinetry and vanity storage built to highlight the double sinks. Using a dark stained wood, full overlay cabinets and modern hardware, this addition revitalized the entire reno.
Valance lighting and warm-toned subway tile floors complete the look in this bathroom, adding warmth to the cool blue tones on the wall. Don’t forget, with this use of blue, seashells and other ocean elements make for great décor themes.
