Transitional Kitchen Renovation

This transitional kitchen harmonizes modern and country styles into a warm but sleek design. Paint-grade maple cabinets painted green with an antiqued glaze are the focal point of this space. Custom cabinets and a sizeable kitchen island display more beautiful woodwork in dark cherry. The kitchen woodwork is tied together with hand scraped oak hardwood floors and 5” crown moulding to match the cherry cabinetry.

A limestone backsplash highlights the built-in stovetop and range hood cooking area. Baltic brown granite counter tops line the kitchen cabinets and a cutting board with a built-in onyx coloured sink adds a unique staple to the kitchen island. The island was custom made to include built-in drawers, a trashcan, two sinks and a dishwasher. Baseboard, instead of a toe-kick, was added to provide a more finished look.

Rustic rod iron hardware is used in combination with stainless steel appliances, including a 32” fridge/freezer and Blanco Cantata pot filler, to flush a modern flair against the rustic cabinetry.
